Making our Way Through the Fall

Where has fall gone? We have made our way into December and now heading to winter break! This year has been so busy learning new skills and ideas! The students have been introduced to the Daily 5 this year and are really enjoying all the time they get to READ - whether to me, a friend or to self! We have also had a great time learning more about the geography of the USA. So far we have covered The Midwest and The South. Topics have been fun as well as based on Michigan GLCEs. We have learned all about the 5 themes of geography with a specific focus on human-environment interaction. We are looking forward to continue our discuss of the south after the break where we focus on the oil spill and the effects it has caused in this region. We will also tie this into our own oil spill in the Kalamazoo River.

Enjoy the holidays!
